The Nikko Hotel

So, guess what?

Last month I got a call from Shell, an invitation was extended to me to attend their Shell Recruitment Day. It was such a great privilege, cos' you know...like everyone wants to work with Shell right? So they booked the flight and hotel for me, and I get to stay at a 5-star called the Nikko Hotel in KL. (Yeah, I know some would thought why Nikko as a name for a 5-star...)

Anyways, the bad news is as expected I didn't get the job with Shell but I sure did enjoy myself at that grand hotel. My room was at the 24th floor which was right below the suites and penhouse floor. Also my room was an executive room. So I'm going to furnish you with some photos I manage to take of the room.

The Room Take 1

The room was one fine room for just one person staying in. Well, I say that because I don't come from a well-off family and never have I stayed in such a big place for a person without sharing with others. As you can see above, I have a work table to prepare for the SRD (short for Shell Recruitment Day). And just beside the bed by the window is a super comfy 2-seater couch with plush pillows to hug!

The Room Take 2

The painting on the wall kinda recommend the plush pink-peach pillows, don't you think? And the lampstand at the side...just lovely. Their color combination is not bad too.

The Room Take 2

The work table is a glass oval cut with modern architecture as you can see one end is attached to the counter table and the other end is supported on its wooden carved leg. And the leg is purposely designed to hide a trash bin there. Neat!

The Room Take 4

Look at that and you'll be wondering "All that space for just 1 person??" Oh yeah baby! This bed fits basically 4 of the same body size as me.

The Room Take 5

This is the bathroom. Sorry i couldn't take a picture from a better angle so I had to take by parts. The mirror is actually huge and the bathroom is spacious with a shower place and a bath tub too! Just look at the inset below.

The Room Take 6

By the way, did I mention that the bathroom is a see-through from the bedroom?

The Room Take 7

Yup, thank God i was alone, hehe, but not to worry. You can stay in this room with friends sharing too. The glass window has a drape that you can pull to cover the window when you shower or use the toilet.

The Room Take 8

The flat screen TV is built in a wooden wall panel and just beside it is the so-called dressing table with a mirror and seat. I like the TV concept though...as this hides all ugliness displayed by it's cables and wires.

The Room Take 9

Ahh...they have the mini bar with mini selection of Jack Daniels, Smirnoff, Gordons, and Hennessy. Care for a mini liquor anyone?

The Room Take 10

Well, I skipped the minis and made myself a hot cuppa coffee that night to prepare for my readings and case studies I had to present to Shell the next day.

The Room Take 11

So, that's my bit on the Nikko Hotel in kuala Lumpur. My overall experience in that room was great and i enjoyed the room very much. My ratings on the hotel? Just as it self-reclaimed...a 5-star indeed. So for those who plans to visit KL Malaysia, do check out for hotel reservations in the Nikko Hotel. You'll surely appreciate it's grandeur hospitality offered.

First Post

Welcome to my heart's sanctuary...Yeap, you got that right, a place for me to pour everything that's in my heart...also my mind.

Last year, I went to a small town called Siniawan. It's a place so small that it contains only a few families who live closely together as a community. They have some shophouses but only in two rows. This is a place where most photographers would love to take a shot of that old town picturesque. We took quite a number and the turn out was pretty classy.

Old Town

The picture above looked kinda sub-urban don't you think? But what I love about this town is the simplicity that lies behind. The beauty caught in photographs are far beyind what words can describe. Of course many people would tend to see that town as a laid back and no development kind of place. But for artistic people like me, we tend to see the many good things about this place...and one of them is it's run-down place of beauty. So calling all photographers, please head down to Siniawan in Kuching, Sarawak if you like taking nature at its best. Kudos to Siniawan!
